The Breast Cancer Bandwagon

Breast Cancer pink ribbonThis post/rant has been triggered by a press release I received from a well know (and loved) skincare brand about their ‘limited edition breast cancer’ version of a product. For every sale in Oct they are donating £1 to breast cancer, while stocks last… (works out about 6% of the wholesale cost price).

I am becoming increasingly cynical about chari-dee link-ups with beauty brands. What started out as a brilliant idea to bring in revenue for this incredibly important charity has become an integral part of many brands’ PR and sales strategy, driving sales and brand awareness without giving away too many of the closely guarded profits.

My advice, if you love a product buy it, if you want to give to Breast Cancer Awareness give directly through this link – DONATE. alexia inge
